Food and Drink
There are lots of great places to eat and drink in and around Hinton St George.
The Lord Poulett Arms
The Lord Poulett Arms has won numerous prestigious national awards including “Gastro Pub of the Year” from the Good Hotel Guide, and “National Dining Pub of the Year” in the Good Pub Guide, as well as winning the Good Pub Guide “Somerset Dining Pub of the Year” in 2009, 2012, 2014 & 2015. The elegant 17th Century Inn is furnished with taste and much of the furniture is antique but the quality of the food is the main drawcard to The Lord Poulett Arms.
The Lord Poulett Arms has two gardens; one is a French inspired knot garden with wisteria covered pergola and a Boules Piste; the other is a typically English wild garden full of mistletoe covered apple trees, hammocks, love seats and even a Five’s Wall (the forerunner to squash).

The Dinnington Docks
The Dinnington Docks is a rare, unspoilt country pub set just off the ancient Fosse Way, offering a warm welcome, proper hospitality and seriously good food. Proudly independent, the Docks champions seasonal British produce, working closely with trusted local suppliers to create thoughtful, flavour-led dishes that sit comfortably alongside well-kept cask ales, a carefully curated wine list and their own award-winning Bewit cider, made just two fields away. With a large garden overlooking open countryside, a traditional skittle alley and an interior that has changed little over the decades, it remains everything a village pub should be — relaxed, characterful and quietly exceptional.
