Information about Flix in the Stix
Flix in the Stix is a small informal group which organises film shows in St George’s Hall most months, apart from high summer. The days of the week vary according to hall availability and the shows usually start at about 6:30pm. A selection of drinks and ice-creams are available both before the show and during the interval, which happens roughly halfway through the film.
A variety of films are shown, including current titles, art films and classics, selected by the organising group who pay a fee to cover the licensing rights. The entry fee at the time of writing is £5 paid at the door. All films shown have subtitles.
Announcements of forthcoming shows are made on Facebook and posters are placed on local notice boards. There is a mailing list which people can join if they so wish.
Any surplus made will first be used to improve the projection quality and then to provide grants to support appropriate village institutions.
Upcoming dates:
23rd June – The Roses
18th September – Nouvelle Vague
23rd October – The Christophers
20th November – Mastermind
All films are shown in St. George’s Hall and doors will open at 7.15pm.
