The Reading Room Trust
The Reading Room Trust (RRT) was registered as a charity in 2002. The capital, which came from the sale of the old and then rather dilapidated “Snooker and Billiards Club” is permanently endowed for the long-term future of Hinton St George village hall. The investment income is also deployed for this purpose but can also be used to help fund village clubs and organisations.
Over the last twenty years the RRT has helped the Village Hall Committee with financial assistance on a number of major projects, whilst also approving donations to almost forty local organisations and clubs.
The Trust welcomes requests for assistance from any organisation that is looking for help with a venture that benefits our local community.
The Trust also has the capability to accept donations. These will be added to the existing investment funds (managed by a specialist fund manager) and carefully screened by the RRT Committee before being utilised at some point for a good local cause.
